You’re so in key, got a way with a melody
Sweet as a summer song
And how it sings, calling to brighter things
I’d love to hum along
You got another view, I wanna see it too
Got me wondering where you first got this groove
I can’t wait to learn how it goes
Gonna be going round in my head oh I know
Every night and day after day
I want to hear it grow
Teach me the song you know
You got another view
I think I could learn from you
Got me wondering where you first learned these moves
I can’t wait to learn how it goes
Gonna be going round in my head oh I know
Every night and day after day
I want to hear it grow
Teach me the song you know
I can’t wait to learn how it goes
Gonna be going round in my head oh I know
Every day and all through my life
I hope you will hear it flow
Teach me the song you know.

Year From Now

Where do you see yourself a year from now?
Are you good with love and what it might allow?
Don’t say you’d simply shuffle through somehow
Where will you be another year from now?
Tell me a little bit about yourself
Are you the one to help me off this shelf?
This project needs someone to keep the lonely times at bay
If I asked your colleagues all about you, what would they say?
Can you describe the work you’re proudest of, and why
Was it so great?
Where do you see yourself a year from now?
Are you good with love and what it might allow?
Don’t say you’d simply shuffle through somehow
Where will you be another year from now?
We run a tight ship here as you can see
What skills can you bring to my company?
Don’t say your only weakness is you’re too perfectionist
We’ve got to be a team and I’m no fantasist
Can you describe how you’d work with this love, go on
Make my day
Where do you see yourself a year from now?
Are you good with love and what it might allow?
Don’t say you’d simply shuffle through somehow
Where will you be another year from now?
Well this could be so great
Won’t you talk to your people, I’ll liaise with mine
‘Cos this could take some work
Yes it may need a real commitment of time
And tell me have you got any questions for me on your mind?
Better think it over now before we sign
Where do you see yourself a year from now?
Are you good with love and what it might allow?
Don’t say you’d simply shuffle through somehow
Where will you be another year from now?
Where do you see yourself a year from now?
Will we take our best shot and hear the world go wow?
Don’t let me sit here trying not to drown
Where will we be a double year from now?
I’m really hoping the answer doesn’t let me down
Where will we be another year from now?

Town In A Million

I don’t know why I seem to have much to say to you
When we’ve just both been rivals for my dream interview
You’re the strong and silent type, huh? Let me see
There’s a tube strike and a long walk back
And I’d love someone with me
And by Queen’s Walk the river it’s such a pretty blue
First thing this morning Mum told me that I look pretty too
Yes I’m new but I’d know that bridge any day
Oh I’m sorry, I just think out loud
But you’re listening anyway
We’re both so young
But you know this place so well
When you’re smiling I can tell
You’re a man in a billion
Me, I feel my eyes are opening up
You’re helping me to fall in love
With a town in a million
I’ve been round here a little, I’ll try not to get us lost
You got me feeling gallant, I reckon we should cross
You’d love Covent Garden, I’ll show you Chinatown
‘Cause it means that, we could talk some more
And the day could hang around
‘Cause we’re so young
But you know this world so well
When you’re smiling I can tell
You’re a girl in a billion
Me, I think my mind is opening up
I think you’ve made me fall in love
With a town in a million
Past old Savoy, the station, the bright lights in the square
I recognise the way now, I think your stop’s up there
When we share goodbye there’s sparkles in my soul
You take nothing, but a deep respect
I wanna know you ’til we’re old but
We’re still so young
And you know my heart so well
You’ve been kind and I can tell
You’re a friend in a billion
Me, I know my world has opened up
Thank you for showing me a love
For a town in a million

A Home

The house is a shell
Took the last of the boxes today
Oh, just as well
It’s so old, unappealing and grey
All the carpet is worn, the kitchen’s too small
The paper divorced itself from the wall long ago
No this isn’t what we’ve called home
Movies every week
Endless games of hide and seek
And your laugh reminding me I’ve never been alone
That won’t cease to be
I can take along with me
Every reason we’ve been calling this place a home
The house is all done!
Give the keys to the agents I guess
You could call it well-loved
Call it a quite uninspiring address
There’s a door with the handle, coming apart
A sensible buyer would probably pass it by
But it’s made of much more than stone
Sunday afternoon
Playing spacemen on the moon
Every song we used to croon to and the ways we’ve grown
That won’t cease to be
I can take along with me
Every thing that we’ve been filling this place with
Laughter and the tears
Autumn candles, summer beers
Filling up the tree with tinsel, stealing Dad’s cologne
In my memory
I will bring along with me
Every reason we’ve been calling this place a home
So many reasons we’ve been calling this place a home
